ISSI

한국의 경기도 이천에 위치한 이천국제조각심포지엄(ISSI)은 1998년 첫 개최를 시작으로 전세계 전문 조각가들을 지원해오고 있습니다. 2022년은 이천국제조각심포지엄이 스물 세 번째 맞이하는 해이기도 합니다. 국적을 불문한 전문 조각가들 중 우수한 작가를 선정하여 25일간 야외 프로그램을 제공합니다. 2022년 7월 ~ 8월 중에 진행되는 이번 행사에서 선정된 작가들에게 숙식, 야외 스튜디오, 지원금, 재료비 등을 제공하며, 전시 및 아티스트 토크 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 예술적 교류와 발전 그리고 조각의 미래를 제시하고자 합니다. 본 프로그램은 야외조각행사이므로 야외에서 직접 작품 활동을 할 수 있는 전문 조각가들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.

International Sculpture Symposium Icheon(ISSI) in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, Korea, began in 1998 and has supported sculptors of all nationalities. It’s the 25th International Sculpture Symposium Icheon(ISSI), which selects the best sculptors of any nationality and offers 25 days’ outdoor programs. In the festival from July to August in 2022, the selected sculptors will be offered accommodations, outdoor studios, funding and material cost etc. Also, this festival will present the artistic exchange and the future of the sculptures through a variety of programs, such as exhibitions and talks with artists. Our programs are outdoor sculpting activities, so we’re looking forward to seeing a lot of professional sculptors who can work sculptures themselves outdoors.

이천화륜(利川和輪) : 물이 사람을 모으고, 물의 이로움이 돌고 돌아 서로 화합하고 하나가 된다는 의미

IcheonHwaRyun (利川和輪) : ‘利’ means ‘benefit’, ‘川’ ‘stream’, ‘和’ ‘harmonnize’, ‘輪’, ‘rotate’, meaning ‘Stream gathers people, its benefits rotate and harmonize one another, becoming ‘ONE’ in the end.

Area : Sculpture / Materials : Stones(*Granite), Metals(Steel, Stainless Steel, Partly possible in casting)

Submission Form: (1) Contents: PPT file / 18 pages (*Attached File Download form); (2) Photo Submission : Submit only practical Work Model photos (*No 3D simulation, drawing, manipulated images etc.); *Please refer to the Application form for details.
Precautions: (1) No participation in other programs or degree programs during the Symposium.; (2) Obtaining a suitable visa for foreign applicants. (*Get help with visa at foreign artists’ request); (3) Observance of the outdoor studio rules.
